2009 Expense Voucher Cut-Off Date will be Jan 24, 2010(TODAY). All department and ministry chairpersons please have their completed voucher submitted to accountant Alex Yan's mail slot before the cut-off date.
First Aid attendant The APS committee is recruiting First Aid Attendants. If you have valid First Aid Certificate and would like to volunteer in our church, please contact Deaconess, Ade Huen 604-760-4628 for arrangement.
The Kitchen Department bought 36 additional sets of utensils for public use, please clean and put them away after use. For safety reason, everyone needs to apply to use the gas stove & BBQ grill. You can find the application form on the bulletin board in the basement or on the church's website. Please submit your filled form to kitchen@pgmbc.com or to the mail slot a week before your event.
Supporting the people in Haiti: Our church is collecting a special offering for Heiti on Jan 31, all the money collected will be donated to MCC (Mennonite Central Committee) to support the aid needed in Haiti. Donations made between Jan 12-Feb12 are eligible for 1:1 matching through CIDA. For updated information visit mcc.org. May God bless you as you consider how to respond to the people in need in Haiti.
Staff news: Pastor Teresa Lam is taking her annual leave from Jan 12 - 27. Rev. Xavier Law & Rev. Grace Kim are attending a pastoral conference on Jan 28th. Rev. Xavier Law, Rev. Grace Kim & Pastor Teresa Lam are attending a MB Conference on Jan 30th.
PRAYER & PRAISE
- Please pray for peace and calm for the people of Haiti. Pray for healing and recovery for those who are sick and injured. Pray for comfort for those who mourn.
- Pray for Soo Loh as her missionary support is complete and she has received her "green light" to go. Her commissioning service will be on Jan 31, 2010.
- Pray for Benedicta's family, as her grandma is now rested in the arms of our Lord. May God comfort this family.
- Pray for the Pastoral Search Task Force as they begin their search for a new English Pastor.
GOSPEL & MINISTRY
Community Survey Thanks the youths from Trek & Journey with their leaders for joining the community survey last Sunday. We conducted the survey 3 times on the last two weekends. We surveyed 3 blocks from north, south, west and east surround our church. The results are as follow:
- 445 home visited
- 54 forms filled
- 51 forms carried useful data
- From the survey, it indicated our community like the (1) Medical seminars (2) Activities for seniors (3) Parenting/Marriage seminars (4) Reading Room.
Pray that we will invite the speakers for different seminars in February; and then the outreach ministry of Pacific Grace Urban Center will start in March.
